Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of the Union Budget 2024-25 as a cornerstone of the 'Amrit Kaal,' setting a strong foundation for the vision of a developed India by 2047. He urged political parties to look beyond partisan interests over the next four and a half years to achieve this goal.

“It is a matter of pride that after 60 years, a government has come to power for the third time and will present the first Budget for the third time. I have been giving guarantees to the people of the country, and our mission is to bring this to the ground. This Budget is important for Amrit Kaal. Today's budget will decide the direction for the next 5 years of our term. This budget will also become a strong foundation of our dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’,” PM Modi stated.

Here are the six key areas highlighted by the Economic Survey to drive growth:

Boost to Private Investments:

Emphasizing the need for increased private sector investment to fuel economic growth.

Focus on MSMEs:

Prioritizing the expansion and development of India's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises as a strategic growth area.

Agriculture Sector:

Increasing prioritization of agriculture by addressing and removing current policy obstacles to make it a key growth driver.

Financing of Green Transition:

Securing funds for India's green transition, essential for sustainable development and environmental protection.

Addressing Education-Employment Gap:

Closing the gap between education and employment to ensure a skilled workforce and economic development.

State Capacity and Capability:

Enhancing the capacity and capability of state institutions to effectively implement policies and drive growth.

The Economic Survey underscores the significance of these areas in achieving the ‘Amrit Kaal’ vision and driving India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
